I offer both short and long-term individual psychotherapy for a variety of problems, including depression, anxiety, relationship problems, eating disorders and trauma issues (physical or sexual abuse). My therapy approach draws on psychoanalytic, interpersonal and family systems theories. As indicated, I might suggest more cognitive-behavioral strategies for coping with specific symptoms. I may also recommend that patients engage in specific mindfulness-based activities that have been shown to alleviate stress, anxiety and depression.
